Denis Tavani, MD, has been elected to the MHSC Board of Trustees for a two year term.

“Having a physician with Dr. Tavani’s experience and knowledge of both the community and hospital is important to our Board,” said Robert Vanderslice, MHSC Board Chairman, and president, Pennsville National Bank.

Dr. Tavani has been on the active medical staff of MHSC since 1987.

Dr. Tavani serves on the Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee and Core Measures Committee. Previously he served on the Bio-Ethics Committee.

Dr. Tavani completed his residency in internal medicine at Monmouth (NJ) Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He earned his Master of Science degree in Genetics from Penn State University.

Dr. Tavani joins an 11-member Board of trustees that includes: Mr.Vanderslice; MHSC Chief Executive Officer James L. Angle; Carl Fricker; PSEG Nuclear; Michael Hopp, Mannington Mills; Christina Humphreys, The Bank; Thomas Pankok (retired); MHSC Chief of Staff Mohamed Salem, MD; Otis J. Sistrunk, PolyOne; Ceil Smith, Today’s Sunbeam, and Wamiq Sultan, MD, member of the MHSC medical staff.
